With a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics and expertise in optical metrology, I am passionate about developing innovative metrology solutions and products in the semiconductor industry. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn about career or business opportunities!

Experience

Senior Applications Scientist

Onto Innovation Inc.

I lead pre and post sales support for a semiconductor customer in the R&D phase of the dimensional metrology (ellipsometry, reflectometry, FTIR) for NAND and 3D DRAM. In addition, I collaborate with internal engineering and product marketing teams to support demos, evaluations, and roadmap discussions. I drive the technical discussions and coordinate weekly customer meetings, in order to deliver the solutions and help improve the productss for ccomplex optical metrology challenges.

April 2024 - Present

Applications Scientist

Onto Innovation Inc.

I solved technical problems for optical metrology customers (ellipsometry/scatterometry/FTIR) on a daily basis. This includes data collection, modeling, interpretation, and presentation. I collaborated with semiconductor manufacturers on RCWA modeling and machine learning of spectroscopic data, resulting in 4 publications or conference presentations.

December 2021 - March 2024

Jack E Crow Postdoctoral Fellow

National High Magnetic Field Laboratory; Florida State University

I worked independently in the condensed matter science group, with the supervision and help from three mentors (two senior research faculty and one assistant professor). These were the projects that I worked on: (1) Development of microwave cavity resonators for the measurement of the ac conductivity of cuprate superconductors at low temperatures and high magnetic fields. (2) FTIR (optical) measurements of the Landau level transitions in topological materials in high magnetic fields. (3) Charge transport measurements of cuprate superconductors with stripes. (4) FIRL100 terahertz laser for the scattering-type near-field imaging of topological materials.

Interests

My hobbies include swimming, badminton, and playing soccer. I am also interested in reading about philosophy, including Karl Jaspers and Giorgio Agamben. I enjoy indie rock music.

I am quite interested in shifting my career gradually toward product development. Also interested in entrepreneurship that transforms AI advancements into products.
